We are thrilled to announce our first professional two day intensive led by Sababa Co. Artistic Director Bar Groisman and company Rehearsal Director Jacob Elliot Roberts 

This intensive is an opportunity to learn the Sababa practices. You will enter our world of movement and theatre, and learn the ways in which the company approaches creating our work.
 

WHAT IS IT?

A day in the life of being a Sababa company member, connecting to the world of your inner self and finding community to create brave and vulnerable work. 

We will work to find acceptance of the madness in our lives, working with images to create movement, and bring our real life experiences into a creative space. 

We will sweat, swear, pour our guts out and laugh, a lot.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Over the course of the two days we will explore Artistic Director Bar Groisman's practice that she uses with her dancers while creating a show. 

Each day will begin with a warm up combination lead by both Bar Groisman and Jacob Elliot Roberts, creating our community for the day and focusing on highly physical and dynamic exercises. 

Bar will share her practice 'Inside-Out' which will consist of playing with ways in which we can teach the body and the mind to be able to jump from state to state, emotion to emotion abruptly as we do so in life itself. This exploration will be a series of improvisational tasks verbally led by Bar with the assistance of Jacob. After day one of exploration, in day two we will delve into implementing these tasks to begin to create highly physical and theatrical movement, using these states to guide us.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This day is suitable for any dance artist who is interested in Sababa Co's work who wants to understand it further and delve deep into themselves to discover how it is to move from within.
We look forward to having open minded artists, dedicated to challenging themselves and trying new ways of working.

Please note that some of the work we will be doing together will be highly emotional, so please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions or concerns.

Places cost:
£75 early bird ONLY 6 AVAILABLE
£80 once early birds have sold out 
Participants will need to arrange their own travel. 

We have 3 bursary places available, which will cover your workshop cost in full.
